ACS Cleans Up at MACH 2012 Exhibition
2 May 2012
The launch of the new FBS downdraught bench at MACH 2012 proved a resounding success for Air Cleaning Systems (acs). The new downdraught bench appeared on the acs stand alongside the renowned OMF1000 coolant mist filtration system and the ph-Cleantec machine cleaning system, which were all extremely well received at the show.
Specifically designed to provide an ergonomic and practical solution to the problem of controlling and removing airborne dust or fumes generated by linishing, sanding, finishing, de-burring and polishing operations, the exciting new downdraught bench generated significant enquiries at the exhibition.
The new bench incorporates a ventilated worktop with a G4 grade filter and a secondary HEPA filter that guarantees all particulate is captured in the filters. Additionally, the two filters are securely clamped into place to prevent contaminant by-pass. At the base of the bench is the inverter (speed) controlled fan assembly that discharges the cleaned air at the bottom, rear of the bench.
The innovative acs inverter system allows the customer to control the rate of suction and regulates the power consumption in line with the fan speed to reduce power consumption and the associated costs making it environmentally friendly.
Alongside the new downdraught bench, acs demonstrated the mobile, hot water, low pressure machine tool cleaning system from PH-Cleantec. This has simplified the tedious task of machine tool cleaning since its launch in 2009.
The unique Cleantec SRK1000-AS that was on show, heats water or machine coolant to 95 degrees C within a minute to conduct machine cleaning operations. The 1000SRK-AS works at an operating pressure from 3 to 7.5Bar to clean components and machine tools and since its launch it has been significantly reducing machine shop maintenance and cleaning procedures. This system was a major crowd pleaser, especially among visitors that run multiple machine tools with a need to eliminate swarf contamination between jobs. Additionally, show visitors that work in maintenance departments were interested in the mobile cleaning unit that can be wheeled to any machine in a production area within minutes, credit to its lightweight 55kg frame.
The flexibility of the 1000SRK-AS enables maintenance/service engineers to comfortably load/unload the unit from a vehicle or storage facility direct to the area to be cleaned with exceptional ease. Once in place, the compact mobile unit that has no fluid tank can suck liquid directly from the machine tool coolant sump or can be connected to an external water tap providing a variable spray water volume from 1 to 1.8litre/per minute. This provides maintenance staff with a solution to removing stubborn marks, oil, swarf and stains from the area to be cleaned. It is this mobility and extreme deep cleaning capability that generated remarkable interest levels from show visitors.
Appearing on the acs stand alongside the new innovations was the renowned, re-designed OMF1000 media filtration unit. With its rounded corners, filter gauges with filter full indicators and power on light, the OMF1000 is mirroring the trend for softer lines within the machine tool market. With its already proven track record in the machine tool market, the new OMF1000 enabled acs to highlight the importance of media filtration and its ability to reduce machine downtime, improve operator health and safety whilst also maintaining a clean work environment and reducing the amount of oil lost to the atmosphere, which is increasingly prevalent with high speed machine tools operating with high pressure coolant systems.
