acs Moves To New Facility
12 April 2013
Based upon its impressive performance results and growth over recent years, Air Cleaning Systems (acs) has now moved from its previous Cardiff location to a larger facility in Pontyclun, near Llantrisant, South Wales.
The move to the new 24,000sq/ft site was a strategic decision based on a number of factors that will enable the business to continue its development plans for the long term. As acs Managing Director, Mr Mark Lemkey comments: "The new building is over 30% larger than our previous site and this will give us room for expansion.
The move has enabled us to create a workflow system through the new site, which will improve our processes and throughput. Added to this, we have installed a new £50,000 oven for powder coating our parts. This fully enclosed installation can only help to improve our already exceptional product quality. Furthermore, we have now created a demonstration and test area, so customers can witness the capabilities of our product range."
With the powder coating and welding departments of the new site being fully enclosed, the light and airy building will follow in the company's philosophy of building a cleaner and more environmentally friendly workplace, which the company provides through its own products. The new facility that is located approximately 20 miles from the previous site offers acs improved transport links with almost instant access to the M4 motorway near Cardiff and a rail station a short walk away.
As Mr Lemkey continues: "Whilst moving a manufacturing facility has its own headaches, we are lucky that the short distance will enable us to retain our loyal and highly skilled staff whilst offering them a significantly improved working environment. Additionally, moving to a modern and environmentally friendly building will reduce our energy consumption whilst enabling us to hold more stock and spare parts for servicing customers, improve our processes and build upon our plans for the future."
