Anticipation Builds for Opening of New Warehouse extension

As the sole UK and Republic of Ireland agent for the Victor range of CNC machine tools, the GM Group is currently extending its warehousing facilities in Oldham, Greater Manchester to support the growth the business is witnessing. Set for completion in Spring 2022, the new facility will expand the warehousing space from its existing 16,000sq/ft2 to over 30,000sq/ft2.
The Greater Manchester facility will be completed in the Spring and will provide a brand new showroom space for the Victor range of machine tools as well as a selection of other used modern CNC & Conventional equipment. The ultra modern factory will also incorporate a training area, new open plan office facilities, new reception area and meeting rooms.
This expansion will add to the facilities the company already owns and occupies in Bolton, giving GM significantly more space to hold additional stock of new and used machine tools. Commenting upon the exciting development, GM Director Nicola Howard says: “We are rapidly growing our footprint in the new and used machine tool sector and the additional space will underpin our exciting growth plans. From a customer service perspective, this will enable us to further reduce lead times with the ability to hold more new and used stock machines. Additionally, customers will be able to visit the new showroom to witness demonstrations of the very latest machine tool technology on the market. The new extension will be serviced by a brand new 21.5 metre span 20 tonne Street overhead crane with a distance of over 9.8 metres under the hook which enables the efficient handling of all types of machine tools.”

“We will also be increasing the already extensive spares and service area to ensure complete availability of all Victor spare parts and ancillary equipment – bolstering our already outstanding reputation for customer service. With a training area and meeting rooms, the new investment will certainly highlight our ongoing commitment to customer service and support. To further emphasise our commitment to supporting clients, we will be expanding our team and streamlining operational structures.
“The investment we believe will deliver the most impressive machine tool facility in the region, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for both staff and customers. Upon completion of the project it is our intention to host an Open House event where we will showcase the very latest products in the Victor machine tool range.” concludes Nicola.
