ETG signs multi-million-pound deal with Pexion Group

The Engineering Technologies Group (ETG) has signed a multi-million-pound contract with the Pexion Group to consolidate the technology management and advancement of its multiple manufacturing businesses. In the first stage of the agreement, Pexion Group companies will take delivery of six machine tools with significantly more planned in future phases of the long-term agreement.
With a range of engineering and manufacturing businesses under its ownership, the Pexion Group is striving to create a uniform manufacturing platform across its businesses, as it continues its exceptional growth trajectory. The new partnership with ETG will enable Pexion to consolidate the service, support and maintenance of its manufacturing facilities whilst providing ETG with the opportunity to implement technology, productivity and automation advancements throughout the Group of companies.
The Pexion Group owns prestigious subcontract businesses such as Drurys Engineering, Claro Precision, Paragon Precision, Oxton Engineering, Rictor Engineering and many more. This new deal will see Wellesbourne based ETG become a turnkey provider to the entire group.
Commenting upon the new contract, Group Managing Director at the Engineering Technology Group, Mr Martin Doyle says: “This deal is the result of a long-established relationship with the Pexion Group and the new deal will see ETG provide an ongoing long-term ‘complete care package’ where we will be analysing businesses within the Group to support and implement change. The core aim will be to create greater business synergies between Pexion Group members whilst upskilling staff and introducing new technologies to drive growth, capacity, automation and diversification, as the Group continues to a phenomenal success story.”
Providing his viewpoint on the contract, Chief Commercial Officer at the Pexion Group, Mr Darren Turner says: “This new contract provides the Pexion group of engineering companies with a long term investment, with an initial focus on optimising our productivity and overall capabilities as a group. What we offer at Pexion is unique to the industry and this investment will not only aid our growth and future plans but continue to improve and streamline our production to meet our increasing customer demand”.
The First Stage is Underway...
In the first stage of the contract, ETG will deliver a new Quaser 3-axis machining centre and a twin-spindle, twin-turret Nakamura-Tome WY150 multi-axis turning centre to Drurys Engineering. Also receiving a Nakamura-Tome WY150 turning centre, a 3-axis Quaser MV184 machining centre and a 5-axis Quaser will be Oxton Engineering Ltd. Completing the first phase of installations will be a Nakamura NTRX300L large bed turning centre that will be supplied to Claro Precision.
Each machine tool has been diligently selected based upon the specific needs of the respective businesses. In all cases, the ETG engineering team has worked closely with Pexion Group engineers to optimise productivity, capability, capacity and flexibility with the over-arching aim of synergising the subcontract businesses through cross-platform Industry 4.0 technology solutions.
