Flexible Multi-Clamping Vice From Schunk

The new KONTEC KSM2 multi clamping vice from SCHUNK is a reli-able and precise all-rounder for stationary workpiece clamping. In or-der to efficiently use on 3, 4, or 5 axis machines, it can clamp several parts at the same time that may be located next to each other.

With slim jaws that do not protrude, the KSM2 minimises interfering contours to allow a particularly high part density with optimum acces-sibility. Its performance during large workpiece clamping together with other KSM2 multi clamping vices is convincing. A hardened and ground fine serration provides for maximum robustness, precision, and dimensional stability.

The system is based on wedge clamping elements that ensures the workpiece is pulled down during the clamping process, no matter how big the workpiece is. In the case of high feed rates, safe and precise machining is ensured. One single actuation key is sufficient setting up the vice’s actuation for clamping the workpieces.

The system has also been facilitated with a lasered scale. Equipped with adapter plates and standardized interfaces, the KONTEC KSM2 seamlessly fits into the world’s largest modular system for stationary workpiece clamping from SCHUNK. If combined with the SCHUNK VERO-S NSE plus 138 quick-change pallet system, any gauges for bore holes can be adjusted within a grid of 2mm along the multi clamping vice within seconds. For machining dynamically balanced parts, the multi clamping vice can be equipped with a manual ROTA-S plus 2.0 lathe chuck from SCHUNK. The KONTEC KSM2 is availa-ble in lengths between 260 and 650mm at jaw widths of 65 or 90mm. It achieves clamping forces up to 25kN and can be combined with numerous parallel chuck jaws from the 1,200 types of the world’s largest standard chuck jaw program from SCHUNK.

MIND started using Pulse-PR in 2005 as we wanted a fresh approach to our marketing strategy. Since making the change, Pulse-PR has significantly increased our presence in the UK magazines with quality editorials and most recently assisting us in securing the prestigious MWP Award at the MACH Show 2010
