Hydrafeed Raises the Bar For MACH 2014
24 February 2014
To improve the productivity and set-up times for bar turners at MACH 2014, Hydrafeed will be introducing its new MSV65 barfeeding system on Stand 5030. The new MSV65 and the larger and already renowned MSV80 will both be receiving their exhibition debut at MACH 2014.
Both the new MSV80 and MSV65 barfeeding systems will be introduced at MACH alongside established products such as the MV65 barfeed, the MX1B, the X-Tract and RotaRack units. These established ranges have proven remarkably successful since their official launches at MACH 2012 and Hydrafeed will be delighted to demonstrate and highlight the successful and solution driven integration into the turned parts market.
For end users looking for a new barfeeding solution, the innovative new MSV65 incorporates a multitude of standard features that can only be offered as an optional addition from alternate vendors. For example, the new MSV65 offers complete servo control on all axis with precision ground servo driven ball screws. The extremely precise ball screws utilise the same technology that is incorporated into high-end machine tools. The result is a barfeeding system with a positional accuracy of 0.1mm, far beyond anything else available. Additionally, this servo-driven system eradicates the need for compressed air. The result of using servo technology ensures that Hydrafeed can provide a system that is unrivalled for performance and accuracy.
With a bar diameter range of 5 to 65mm and bar length capacities from 200 to 1550mm; the MSV65 is not strictly limited by these dimensions with bespoke solutions available to suit individual demands. The MSV65 incorporates a new bar loading mechanism that ensures the bars are 'soft' loaded from the storage magazine onto the rollers to provide minimum friction. Furthermore, this enables customers to load irregular bar shapes. This technology prolongs the service life of the MSV65 whilst giving the end user greater flexibility in the type of bars that are loaded. Additional standard features on the MSV65 include a push-rod backstop facility, a barfeed or shaft loading system and a bar length measurement with the ability to accept random bar lengths. All this is combined with an operator friendly HMI screen to display the 100 part program storage system.
The new barfeed is operated via the HMI screen that accepts all values and stores production information, so changeover times are literally a case of keying in alternative bar diameters. This intuitive system has been designed with the end user in mind, delivering ease of use and simplifying and reducing the time of the changeover and set-up processes.
The MSV65 has a height range of between 860 to 1300mm with an overall weight of 300 kgs, which demonstrates its robust and rigid build quality. The compact overall length of 1.900 metres with a depth of 1 metre enables the MSV65 to fit into the most compact of machine shop environments to deliver a robust and extremely accurate barfeeding solution that will enable the end users to improve the quality and surface finishes of their components by eliminating vibration and bar movement.
As well as offering a multitude of barfeeding and automation solutions for the turned parts industry, the Milton Keynes manufacturer will be keen to promote its ability to manufacture bespoke barfeed and automation systems to suit the increasingly diverse demands of the marketplace.
