ITC Demonstrates Expertise at Sign UK 2013

This year's Sign & Digital exhibition proved a remarkable success for Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) as it once again launched a number of new innovations from its Stand. As a market leading supplier of high quality cutting tool solutions to the Sign Industry, ITC has continued its relentless development of new products throughout 2012 and this was noted in the incredible enquiry and order level the company received at the show.

With a UK based manufacturing and R&D facility, ITC has built an enviable reputation for servicing the UK sign industry with the most dynamic tooling solutions available. At the 2013 Sign UK show, ITC presented new innovations such as a new coating for the established 3061 Series for machining stainless steel and similar exotic materials, the extension of the market leading 180 Series of cutters and the 4071 Series of cutters for the machining and chamfering of foamex, plastic wood, MDF and additional abrasive materials.

Other new product developments that received plaudits at the show included the new 2041 Series. This incorporates an innovative geometry with enhanced wiper flats and polished flutes that improve swarf clearance, especially when conducting pocketing operations on acrylic, aluminium and wood. The result is exceptional surface finishes and the elimination of scouring type marks. For the customer, this reduces the requirement for secondary hand finishing operations and the consequent time and labour requirement. These benefits were highlighted at the event, much to the delight of show visitors. Other products that won acclaim were the new 3 flute cutters in the 2091 Series of Up and Downcut tools and the 2121 Series of extra long cutters for machining difficult to reach surfaces.

Leading the market in the provision of solutions, the ITC team is always listening to customers and keeping abreast of market trends. The latest trend noted by ITC is the import of cheap aluminium composite materials. This creates issues with tool life and surface finishes for end users. As the signmaking market is put under increasing price pressure by its customers, small sign making businesses are increasingly using low cost Asian aluminium composites. The use of low quality alloys is seeing more manufacturers witnessing low tool life, poor surface finishes and increasing production times. At Sign UK 2013, ITC emphasised this point and as people have come to expect delivered solutions to these issues to show visitors.
