ITC Extends More Than Just Its PCD End Milling Line..
30 September 2015
The extensive range of PCD cutting tools from Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has now been extended with the arrival of a series of corner radii being added to its market leading 2111 Cyber Series of end milling cutters.
As a leading cutting tool manufacturer for the aerospace, automotive, motorsport and general subcontract sectors, ITC has expanded the 2111 Cyber Series of two flute centre cutting tools to provide a host of radius options for the available tool diameters. Prior to the extension of the 2111 Series, the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm diameter tools were only available with a 0.2mm corner radius. However, by being attentive to the demands of its customer base, ITC has extended the radius options for each diameter within the series.
Commenting upon the new additions to the 2111 PCD Series, ITC's Managing Director, Mr Peter Graves says: "We already have a remarkably large and diverse line of square and ball nosed PCD tools that are all manufactured at our UK headquarters in Tamworth and they are generating results that are the benchmark within industry. However, as the manufacturing sector evolves, so does the type and complexity of machining tasks. With new machining strategies and material compositions emerging, we have extended the 2111 Series to support the industry advances as they unfold."
The extension to the 2111 Series will see the 5 and 6mm diameter tools now offered with a 0.5 and 1mm radius whilst the 8mm tool will have a 0.5, 1 and 2mm radius. These radii options will be offered on all the respective diameters up to 20mm with the 10mm tool also having a 3mm radius, the 12mm will include a 3 and 4mm radius whilst the 16mm tool will incorporate a 3, 4, and 5mm radius. The largest tool diameter in the 2111 Cyber Series line, the 20mm cutter will include the aforementioned radii options as well as a 6mm corner radius.
Designed and manufactured at ITC's Tamworth facility, the 2111 Cyber Series has an overall length from 75 to 150mm with a length of cut from 5 to 20mm. This optimised geometry significantly reduces chatter whilst heat is efficiently dissipated from the cutting edge to extend tool life. The impressive armoury of ITC's PCD tooling range is available off-the-shelf for immediate delivery. The success of the ITC product line has now enabled the company to expand its UK manufacturing centre by 50%, providing even more capacity for rapid turnaround tooling solutions. More details on this expansion will be available soon..
