ITC To Launch New Products At Composite Engineering Show

At the Composites Engineering Show from the 7th to 8th of November, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) will be demonstrating its expertise in the provision of cutting tools for machining composite materials. At the show, the Tamworth based manufacturer will be showing a host of new products as well as promoting its capacity to design and manufacture specialist composite tooling solutions from Stand 1025.

As a market leading provider of PCD tooling solutions to the aerospace and motorsport markets, ITC will be showcasing some of its most popular product lines. This will include the new 2111 and 2151 XLS Cyber Series of PCD two flute end mills. Developed specifically for machining graphite, metal matrix and other similarly abrasive materials, both series have a choice of corner radius for improved tool life, whilst rigidity is credit to the solid carbide shank. The 2111 series has been designed with necking for additional reach, whereas the 2151XLS range has been designed to reach intricate and difficult to reach profiles with its overall length of 150mm. Available in diameters from 2 to 20mm with length of cut from 2 to 12mm, the 2111 and 2151 Cyber Series will be in high demand at the show.

Complementing these two market leading innovations at Composite Manufacturing will be the 2102 and 2132 Cyber Series of ball nosed PCD end mills. Manufactured in the UK at the company's Tamworth facility, the 2102 and 2132 offer the same overall length, length of cut and reach as the square end 2111 and 2151 series whilst offering radius options of 2 to 20mm for the 2102 series and 8 to 12mm for the 2132 extra long range. Ideal for machining profiles, forms and cavities, the 2102 and 2132 ball nosed series have proven a resounding success in the market to date.
Continually developing new solutions, ITC will be keen to highlight the benefits of its new 4121 Cyber Series of diamond coated end mills. Since its exhibition debut at MACH 2012, this new series of square end four flute end mills has proven a revelation to machine shops cutting graphite, carbon fibre and aluminium alloys. The new solid carbide end mill has an optimal geometry design and diamond coating that work in harmony to provide unrivalled tool life and performance levels on abrasive and difficult to machine materials.

Already proving a major success with performance and cost conscious OEM customers, the 4121 range incorporates a 30 degree right hand spiral with centre cutting and facet relief to give the end user results that are measurably improved against competitors indexable insert tooling.

With diamond coated tooling increasingly prominent in industry sectors that frequently machine abrasive materials, ITC's 4121 Series will be exhibited alongside the company's market leading 2071, 2101, 2072, 2092, 4072 and 190 Cyber Series. The 2071 series is a two flute end mill with a 30 degree helix that is available without or with a radius to improve chipping resistance and consequent tool life. The high quality diamond utilised to coat the solid micro grain carbide cutters can deliver tool life and performance levels far beyond solid carbide cutters.

The 2101 series offers properties similar to the 2071, but with a smaller shank diameter to improve access to cavities, whilst the 2072 two flute ball nose range with diameter options from 2 to 12mm guarantees the precision machining of forms and curved surfaces. For operation at higher speeds and feeds to improve productivity, ITC's R&D team has worked tirelessly with globally renowned OEMs to introduce its new 4072 series of four flute diamond coated end mills.

As well as an extensive range of PCD and diamond coated end mills, ITC will be exhibiting its outstanding range of routing tools for glass fibre machining. The 190 Series of diamond cut routers will be of particular interest to end users in this sector. This multi-flute right hand cutting series is available with four different end cuts and offers dimensions in imperial and metric from 3 to 12mm. As well as ITC's range of off-the-shelf PCD & diamond coated cutting tools, the UK cutting tool manufacturer will be launching a number of new routing cutters with innovative geometries and designs at the Composite Engineering show. The new product designs have been developed by ITC's R&D department that also has the capacity to design and manufacture specialist composite drills, routers and countersinks - all of which will be on show at the event.
