Kerf is Hot Property With New Facility
12 January 2015
With business scaling new heights, Kerf Developments has now moved to a new 14,000sq/ft headquarters to support the growth strategy of the UK's leading plasma, oxy-fuel and waterjet machine specialist. The new building will increase the company's office, training, spares and demonstration facilities, which will further enhance service to an ever increasing customer base.
Compared to the previous site, the new factory is 50% larger and is located in a prime position on the edge of Rochdale, close to the M62 corridor. The 50% increase in floor space will enable Kerf to permanently display a number of demonstration machines on-site that will highlight the capabilities of Kerf's plasma, oxy-fuel and waterjet cutting technology. Having the ability to demonstrate these three technologies and the benefits of each will undoubtedly enhance the sales and demonstration process for the technical engineers. It will also allow customers to try various technologies before they buy, proving out the various processes on their materials and parts.
In addition to providing demonstrations, the new site also incorporates a training area for customers to undertake training on the machines, machine controllers, control software and the CAD/CAM suite. The training area will also support operator refresher courses and the training of new employees for Kerf customers.
Furthermore, the new headquarters has significantly increased the capacity of the spares department to meet Kerf’s expanding customer base. The result is a significant increase in the amount of spares and consumables that will be available for next day delivery. The larger floor space will also enable Kerf to hold more machines in stock for customers that require short lead times to meet orders. With the increased space, Kerf also has greater space and capacity to support its ongoing growth ambitions.
