New Milling & Drilling Lines from ITC at Advanced Manufacturing Show
4 April 2013
At the Advanced Manufacturing Show that will be running alongside the Subcon Show, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) will be giving a number of new products their exhibition debut. Following a successful outing at the 2012 event, ITC is anticipating considerable interest in its new Widia VDS drills, taps and stub length milling cutters as well as the company's, UK manufactured range of PCD and diamond coated cutting tools for the composite industry.
From stand AM97, the Tamworth based manufacturer will be keen to introduce the new Widia VariDrill range of drilling products. The Widia VariDrill Series available from ITC provides optimal geometries, through coolant facility and a new core design to enhance swarf evacuation. All this, results in tool life and productivity gains that have impressed customers since their UK market launch in 2012.
ITC can supply drills with 3 to 30XD cutting depths available across a multitude of diameters, shank lengths and point angles. Having access to Europe's largest and most comprehensive range of hole-making products, ITC can supply wire, letter and fractional drill dimensions as well as metric drills in the 1 to 20mm diameter range. The extensive range of drilling products is complemented by a new series of tapping and thread-making products for a multitude of applications and material types. This is supported by the company's recent employment of a hole-making and threading expert.
For high performance milling applications, ITC will be demonstrating the capabilities of its Widia Rubig stub length VariMill cutters for the rough and finish machining of difficult to cut materials. The new stub length cutters are available in diameters from 6 to 12mm with cut lengths from 7 to 15mm with shank lengths up to 55mm, making them the ideal length for small machining envelopes such as turning centres with driven tooling turrets. This innovative new range provides exceptional productivity by machining at far higher speed and feed rates than competitor end mills. To achieve similar performance parameters when machining cavities and complex forms that are familiar with 5-axis machining processes, ITC will introduce the Hanita 47N0 ball nosed end mills at the event. Like the stub length end mills, the short flute length of the 47N0 ball nosed cutters ensures maximum rigidity, so customers can enjoy the benefits of enhanced tool life, productivity and surface finishes when reaching into complex cavities.
For the specialist machining of particular materials, ITC will be showing the new 5102 Series of Alusurf two flute end mills that have endured significant R&D testing to provide aluminium machining performance that is unparalleled. With diameters from 3 to 12mm and a 45 degree helix angle, the Alusurf is the market leading choice for aluminium applications. For more demanding materials such as composites, abrasive materials and particularly hard aerospace grade alloys, ITC will be highlighting its extensive range of PCD and diamond coated tooling innovations. For further information on how ITC can exceed the performance of your existing cutting tool supplier, come and visit our Stand AM97 at the Advanced Manufacturing Show Birmingham NEC from 4-6 June.
