OPEN MIND Expands UK Team To Support Growth

OPEN MIND Technologies posted record sales figures in 2016 and to underpin the CAM specialists' unprecedented levels of growth, the Bicester company has employed three new staff.
Karl Oram has joined the OPEN MIND UK team after spending 25 years as a CAD/CAM specialist across the pond in Canada.
With huge experience as a CAD/CAM sales specialist and applications engineer, Karl has spent his career working for prestigious manufacturers moving from the machine shop through applications, sales and training on CAM packages. This CAM expert has now joined OPEN MIND as an application engineer where his experience will be applied to conducting demonstrations, on-site support and training for end-users.
Blending the experience of Karl with youthful exuberance, OPEN MIND has also employed Cory Jamieson. At 21, Cory is the youngest and latest member of staff joining OPEN MIND. During a mechanical engineering apprenticeship at Hydrafeed, Cory has spent the last four years learning his trade on Hurco and Mazak machine tools as well as attending college to obtain BTEC, NVC and HNC qualifications. As the next step in Cory's career development, he will learn the ropes on the industry's leading CAM package and apply this knowledge to his new position as a junior application engineer.
The latest addition is Joshua Harper who joins OPEN MIND as an Application Engineer. A time served machinist, Josh has spent several years at high profile subcontract machine shops prior to plying his trade at the renowned Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) where Josh’s talent was recognised with a promotion to CNC Team Leader. With extensive experience of using numerous CAM packages in the aerospace, motorsport, marine and general subcontract sectors, OPEN MIND will be utilising Josh’s experience gained at the MTC to extend and enhance the customer support network.
Commenting upon the appointments, OPEN MIND Technologies UK, Managing Director, Mr Adrian Smith says: "In 2016 our enquiry and sales levels broke all previous records. To underpin this continual growth, we have a strategy in place to employ more sales engineers and application engineers. It is the applications engineers that will support new customers beyond the post-sales process with assistance for all customer technical queries. Our new application engineers will enhance customer experience and service whilst supporting the sales engineers. The astounding levels of growth are the result of developments to our leading hyperMILL CAM package and the enhancements within the system that are the clear benchmark of the industry."
