Premier Gets Irish Market in A Spin With New Agency Agreement
4 April 2014
As one of Ireland's leading suppliers of machine tools and ancillary equipment, Premier Machine Tools has celebrated the appointment of a new agency agreement with German CNC manufacturer SPINNER Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik Gmbh by recently hosting an Open House event. The overwhelming interest in the Spinner range yielded two machine sales at the event with a high level of enquiries for additional machine tools.
To introduce Spinner to the Irish manufacturing industry, Premier showcased the new Spinner U5-620 and U5-1520, 5-axis machining centres as well as the Spinner TTC300 multi-axis turning centre and the Spinner PD precision hard turning centre. The Spinner U5-620 has an X-axis bed of 620mm whilst the U5-1520 offers a twin table set-up with one 620mm 5-axis table and also a fixed table to reduce set-ups and improve flexibility. Both machines offer a 32 or 55 rapid tool change facility as standard. With simultaneous 5-axis machining available via a rotary/tilting table, the new high performance machining centres will be of great interest to the marketplace.
The new TTC300 multi-axis twin-spindle turning centre demonstrated at the event incorporates a 65mm diameter capacity with the option of up to 24 driven tool stations. The extremely flexible TTC300 is also offered with Y-axis capability to deliver remarkable precision, productivity and capability within a small and robust footprint. For the utmost in precision and rigidity for hard machining beyond 60HRc, Premier introduced the Spinner PD hard turning centre. With the most accurate spindles on the market with a roundness of less than 0.1microns, process stability and precision is guaranteed with this exciting new turning centre, which can be a direct replacement for grinding in many instances.
As well as the introduction of the Spinner range of machine tools, Premier also demonstrated other machines from its stable at the event. With the Tornos Gamma 20 turning centre, the Zeiss Duramax CMM, a host of Baty Vision and Shadow Graph machines and cutting tool technology on show from Seco, the event proved a resounding success.
This was the first time that Spinner machines were on show in Ireland and the Premier Machine Tool staff were kept very busy, with a lot of enquiries for Spinner, Tornos and Zeiss products. The success of the event resulted in orders for over €500,000 with the first U5-1520, 5 axis machining centre with Spinners unique fixed table, and a TC800-110mm bore multi-axis turning centre.
The overwhelming success of the event is not solely down to the high quality machine tools and ancillary equipment on show. With a 3,500sq/ft showroom and demonstration facility, Kildare based Premier has recently invested in two new engineers and a general manager to further enhance the impeccable service levels the company provides to the Irish manufacturing sector.
