Quick-Change Chuck for Lathes with Short Stroke Cylinder

Quick-change jaw chucks from SCHUNK, the competence leader for clamping technology and gripping systems are renowned for a very short return on investment for companies turning smaller and medium sized parts. Following the success of the SCHUNK ROTA THW plus wedge bar power chucks, SCHUNK now transfers this principle of the fast jaw change to CNC lathes with short stroke cylinders with the launch of the SCHUNK ROTA NCX power chuck.

The universal SCHUNK ROTA NCX power chuck can replace conventional lathe chucks without a quick-change jaw system 1:1 without any necessary conversion on the machine. It minimizes the set-up and extends the productive machine running times. Within 60 seconds, a new jaw set is retrofitted with a repeat accuracy of 0.02mm. The ROTA NCX is suitable for finish machining as well as volume production.

To ensure maximum operational safety, the SCHUNK ROTA NCX is equipped with a jaw locking system and jaw presence monitoring. With an individual base jaw system, the ROTA NCX becomes particularly appealing for users that do not yet work with a quick-change jaw chuck. Every type of standard top jaws with tongue and groove can be used as top jaws. The universal SCHUNK ROTA NCX chuck is avail-able at of beginning of 2015 in the sizes 165, 215, 260, and 315mm with a through-hole of diameter 53 to 106mm, a jaw stroke from 3 to 6.3mm, and a clamping force from 55 to 155kN. The versatile new unit can also be used for I.D. and O.D. clamping.
