Schunk Announces 9th Global Symposium on Service Robotics

According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the sale of privately used service ro-bots will increase to 35 million units worldwide by 2018. At the same time, the market for professional applications is also booming. Experts assume that cooperation between man and robot will be an everyday phenomenon within only a few years.

A comprehensive overview of the status quo and current trends in service robotics will be offered at the 9th SCHUNK Expert Days on Service Robotics, to be held by SCHUNK, the competence leader for clamping technology and gripping systems on February 24 - 25, 2016. The event will be hosted at the company’s competence center for gripping systems in Brackenheim-Hausen near Heilbronn, Germany.

True to the motto 'Human meets Robotics' the upcoming event, as the world’s leading communication platform for applied service robotics, will focus especially on human-robot collaboration. What are the time-proven technological solutions for direct cooperation between man and robot? Which safety concepts are necessary? How can one achieve high acceptance among the employees for human-robot applications? The two-day symposium will deal with all of these issues and more.
