TaeguTec Expands TANG-SFEED Line for Swiss Machining
12 October 2025

TaeguTec has announced a significant expansion of its acclaimed TANG-SFEED small part machining line with the introduction of innovative MAXI-RUSH type heads. Specifically developed to enhance productivity in Swiss-type turning centres, the new arrivals significantly advance precision high-volume small parts production.
The enhanced TANG-SFEED system builds upon the proven excellence of TaeguTec's small-sized, sharp, cutting-edge LPHU 05 inserts, which have established themselves as industry leaders in small part machining applications. Integrating MAXI-RUSH type heads into the TANG-SFEED system introduces a revolutionary quick tool-change mechanism that reduces setup times in sliding head turning centres, which can inherently be challenging to access due to the compact work envelope.
The MAXI-RUSH modular head design enables rapid tool changes and significantly reduces machine downtime. It is available with head diameters of 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, and 30mm, and an overall length ranging from 17 to 23.5mm. Ideal for true 90-degree cutting, the 10 and 12mm MAXI-RUSH heads are supplied with two insert pockets, while the larger 16, 20, and 30mm variants feature four and six insert pockets for high-feed cutting.
Central to the system's performance is the advanced LPHU 05 insert technology, featuring TT5525 coating for enhanced wear resistance and extended tool life. The inserts accommodate feed rates ranging from 0.03 to 0.10mm per tooth, with axial depth of cut capabilities ranging from 0.1 to 3.5mm, offering exceptional versatility and productivity across various material applications.
The comprehensive TANG-SFEED ecosystem comprises straight steel shanks and ER collet chuck conversion adaptors, ensuring seamless integration with existing machine tool setups. The MXSTD-S straight steel shanks are available in various configurations with 10 and 12mm shanks, an overall length of 50, 80, or 90mm, and thread sizes ranging from S06 to S08. The MXER collet chuck adaptors accommodate both ER16 and ER25 systems with a variety of length options.
Swiss-type machine operators benefit greatly from the system's optimised geometry and improved rigidity, which facilitate consistent performance in demanding high-speed machining environments. The reduced setup times achievable through the MAXI-RUSH quick-change functionality directly lead to increased machine utilisation and enhanced production throughput. Furthermore, as manufacturers strive to reduce their carbon footprint and environmental impact, the TANG-SFEED reduces carbide consumption with its miniature dimensions and colossal performance.
