27 May 2019
Following continued annual sales growth, Tornos UK has now expanded its UK team with the addition of three new highly skilled engineers. The new appointments will all serve to strengthen the service, customer support and technical engineering solutions available from the leading manufacturer of Swiss sliding head turning technology.
Joining the company through May and June 2019, the appointments are part of Tornos commitment to unparalleled customer service and support. Each of the new starters brings extensive CNC experience with the flexibility to conduct both technical applications support and service. Stephen Brett and Andy Patrick have both been heavily involved in the manufacturing sector since leaving school and serving technical manufacturing apprenticeships prior to careers in production orientated roles across a number of different market segments.
Chun Yuen previously held a 10 year customer support engineer role for Tornos in Asia and will bring a fresh outlook to customers on the application of their Tornos machine tools. The additions to the Tornos UK team will provide additional capacity to the existing customer support team for the UK and Irish markets.
Commenting upon the new appointments, General Manager of Tornos UK, Mr John McBride says: “This is an exciting new chapter for Tornos UK. We have witnessed significant sales growth in recent years and the new additions will underpin our commitment to customer service and support. The three new staff will be multi-disciplined engineers working across the entire range of Tornos sliding head turning centres and multi-spindle machines.”
“The Tornos portfolio now encompasses more than 19 different machine types and having multi-skilled engineers capable of servicing the demands of our extensive customer base across all product lines and industry segments will be a huge benefit to our UK customer base. The new engineers will enhance service and support to Tornos customers over all corners of the UK and Ireland and with a multi-disciplined skill-set, there will be no restrictions on their abilities to provide the very highest level of support for engineers.”
