Unicut Expands With New Premises

The relentless commitment to customer satisfaction and service is paying dividends for Unicut Precision with the company announcing the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Welwyn Garden City. With the winning of a new long term contract from Eaton Hydraulics, Unicut has opened a new 4,400sq/ft production unit to service the project and added 6 staff to its payroll.
The new unit which is attached to the company's existing unit 7, is dedicated to the Eaton Hydraulics contract worth £3m over four years for the production of cartridge bodies for the hydraulics industry. To service this long term project, the new facility that has been fully refurbished and will be home to two new Index C200 turning cells, an existing Miyano ABX64 and a Citizen A32 turning centre.
As part of the refurbishment, Unicut has installed its own goods-in entrance and goods-out exit to maintain a dedicated workflow system for the prestigious contract. To contain the work for Eaton in an all encompassing 'focus factory', the extension will also incorporate a new plating facility to conduct in-house zinc and nickel plating of the Eaton components. Furthermore, Unicut has also installed a dedicated roller conveyor system to allow all parts to follow efficiently through the machining process and then through cleaning and plating operations in the company's state-of-the-art eco-friendly cleaning plant. This new facility is the epitome of a modern manufacturing cell with parts following a precise conveyorised workflow system that encompasses goods-in, production, inspection, cleaning and plating through to delivery.
