Widia Publishes New Catalogue
6 March 2019
Widia has now published its Advances 2019 product catalogue that is now available in the UK from Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC). The new 100 page publication is packed with new product developments and extensions to the impressive range of solid carbide and indexable tooling from Widia.
The 2019 edition of the Advances catalogue introduces a number of new indexable milling, solid carbide milling, holemaking and turning product lines, offering next generation tooling solutions for end users. A particular highlight in the new catalogue is the Widia VSM890-12 series of shoulder and face milling tools. The 8-edged double sided indexable range is one of the very few economic industry solutions that provide true 90 degree milling. With Weldon end mills and shell mills available from 32mm to 250mm diameter with a variety of insert grades and geometries, this all-rounder is the perfect solution for cost-effective 90 degree milling of all material types.
Complementing the new VSM890-12 is the impressive new VXF high feed milling range. As part of the Victory X-Feed portfolio, the new VXF will be available with 7 and 12mm insert designations. Perfect for high-feed roughing, the VXF incorporates an optimised tool body and chip-gash design that maximises rigidity and performance with unequalled swarf removal characteristics. Alongside the VXF offering is an extended range of 70NS solid carbide end mills. Already well recognised in the industry, the 6-flute 70NS with 3XD cutting for optimal circular plunging, ramping, facing and pocketing has been optimised with a new geometry design that includes a larger radial engagement for the high-feed machining of exotic materials. Additional new products of note in the milling range are the new GP series and 4U50 and 4U80 end mills for rough machining in the aerospace industry.
As part of the enhanced turning platform, Widia has introduced a completely new WGC range of parting and grooving solutions. Labelled as the most versatile grooving, profiling and parting-off range available, the new WGC platform has a complete range of tool bodies, blades, insert sizes and designations that are all available with a comprehensive offering of geometry styles and grades to suit the diverse demands of the marketplace.
Already well recognised as an industry leader in holemaking, Widia has added to its portfolio with the enhanced Top-Cut 4 and TDMX drilling ranges. Whilst both are existing product lines, a complete redesign of the TDMX now sees a completely new insert geometry and an enhanced drill body that simplifies insert changes whilst adding even greater rigidity and stability. Furthermore, the polished flute TDMX is now available with 3XD, 5XD and 8XD designations for drilling holes from 16 to 40mm diameter.
